This is the self indulgent part of the site which is all about me.

 

I am Rodney Spottiswood, but you can call me Rodders’ or some clients call me Spotty (but they have permission).

 

I completed two television courses at NMIT in 1995 and started work straight away as a video editor.  That was with Photomation who eventually retrenched me after 6 fantastic years.  This saw me enter the freelance world as an editor, camera assistant and is when Rodders’ Video Services, my video production business was born.

 

The camera assisting part of my freelancing led to two years working on cop show ‘Stingers’ which was hard work but loads of fun.  After this gig I emerged as a camera operator and fulfilled a life-long dream of being paid to watch cricket.

 

I now vary day to day from editing for a variety of production companies, shooting for all of the networks or producing videos for my own clients.  I love the variety and the broad mix of people I get to work with.

 

That’s my entire professional life in 3 paragraphs, I was kind of hoping it would take longer to summarise, but hey, at least I manage to pay the bills.
